My experience with this company...Terrible, Awful, Ridculous, Beyond Belief!!!
I WOULD NEVER recommened this company to anyone. I ordered (5) glass panels for a deck rail & from beginning to end, the experience went from slightly annoying to absolutely awful.
My order shipped ($340 shipping) & I was given a 2 week estimate to deliver. I was told the freight company would contact me 24 hours beforehand. During the sale, I was told that when the order arrived to contact them if there was damage or a problem and that I should not refuse but should accept it, as it 'made their process easier'.
The biggest disappointment was when my order arrived and we opened the crate. 1 of the 5 panels had completely exploded and was nothing more than crumbles on top of the 4 good panels. I contacted sales immediately and informed them of the issue. I was again told to accept the delivery as 'it was easier for their process' and asked that I take and send pictures for them to use in getting my replacement to me. The driver contacted his management and reported and documented the issue as well. I took pictures and sent them and was contacted by sales about my replacement panel.
I was told that 'upper management' was aware of the problem and agreed to send a replacement panel, as long as I covered the shipping. Wait, what?!?!? I was also told that if I didn't want to pay for shipping, that they would credit me for the cost of the panel only. Those were my choices, again - what the *!#* ???? I called to let them know that the shipping costs for the replacement belonged to them, as I never received a good panel that I had already paid for and had already paid shipping for. The sales person escalated and got 'management', Marquez (not sure on spelling), on the line.
I re-explained to Marquez that their return/refund policy on their website states that in the event of damage that the customer would be reimbursed or they would send a replacement to the customer 'at no additional cost'. I also sent them a screenshot of their own webiste, with that language highlighted. Marquez ignored that information and gave me no choice but to pay shipping or get credit only for panel cost. I told him that 'reimbursement' was not only for the panel, it should include my shipping payment as well but it didnt' matter, as I didn't want to be reimbursed, I wanted the panel replaced. He said that the policy of 'reimburse or send replacement at no additional cost' was not for the customer to decide but was for them to decide what was best. If I wanted a 'free' replacement panel, I would have to pay another $300 for shipping - although I had already paid $340 to ship the 5 panels. He then told me that he had a business to run and how would he make any money if they just 'gave away product AND paid for it to be shipped'. Unbelievable - I was beside myself. I provided them with a 2nd screenshot reference on their website delivery process that explains the process from order to deivery. That page states that if the product arrives damaged, 'don't worry, just report it within 3 days and a replacement will be sent free of charge'. Marquez ignored this also. I asked him to transfer me to his superior, so we could get to the right solution. He refused to do that and stated that there ‘was nobody else to talk to.’ I asked if he had a boss – he ignored me – I asked if he was the owner – he said he was not. I said ‘great, if you’re not the owner, please let me talk with the owner and if not them, please let me talk to your boss.’ He said ‘no, I have given you your options.’ It was clear at this point - after trying to help him understand his own documented business committments and stated replacement policies - that he was not going to follow his own company policy, so I gave up and had them refund the panel cost and looked to source it locally. Ultimatley, that local panel cost me 3.5x the cost of the broken panel - A cost I should NEVER even have had to consider.
Bottom line - this company, or current management - knows NOTHING about customer service and doing right by them. I expected nothing more from them than what their website stated they would do for me. They sent me a broken item and did nothing to replace it for me at their cost, the way their website said they would in 2 different places and acted like they were doing me a favor by sending me a 'free' replacement, as long as I covered the shipping ($300 for one panel). Their stated policy to replace 'free of charge' and 'at no additional cost' were basically lies and they took $ from me that was not theirs to take. I will NEVER recommend a company that lies about their committment to their customers. If you do order something from them, like I unfortunately did, hope and pray nothing gets broken - especially if you paid a lot for shipping - because Marquez will make you pay for it again.
